13th December 2017 – Christmas event at the Bar Convent

3.30 – 4.30pm  Guided Tour of the new ‘Living Heritage’ centre & secret chapel (optional), followed by the reception, with mulled wine and mince pies – Cost £12.50

4.30 – 6.30pm  Reception only, with mulled wine and mince pies – Cost £6.50

20th September 2017 – Harold Gosney – Private View

We are fortunate to have been offered a private viewing of York artist and sculptor, Harold Gosney’s, retrospective ‘My Life as an Artist 2017’. (and it has been a very full life – see his work on Google!).

The viewing will be on Wednesday 20th September, at 6pm, at the Stained Glass Centre ( formerly St Martin cum Gregory Church) on Micklegate.

The fee is £5 per head, pay on the night – but please let John Pick know you intend to come along at wapick@btconnect.com or telephone 01423 330590.

John needs to know numbers attending please. If you are interested in coming for a meal somewhere nearby after the viewing, please also let John know.

11th September 2017 – Trinity House, Hull

One of Hull’s best kept secrets – Trinity House – is only open to the public on certain days this year. The building’s history dates back to 1299, when Hull (then known as ‘Wyke’) was still a developing town. The house was founded by a Guild of Master Mariners and Marine Pilots; it contains rare and valued artefacts from around the world.

Our trip – Monday 11th September includes a UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY for a guided tour of Trinity House, and also a tour of Hull by Dr David Neave.

The cost, including coach travel, is £30.  Lunch (pay on the day) – £6.50

June 2017 – STAINED GLASS VISIT

Stained glass visit – Wednesday 21st June at 6.30pm.  Meet at Holy Trinity Church at the top of Micklegate near the Priory Street turning.  Keith Barley (of Barley Studios) and Phil Thomas will be our guides.  We will then move down the road to St Martin-le-Gregory – now the Stained Glass Centre – for the second visit.

Cost – £7 – pay on the night.
